The Next Host ?
Drew Carey has selected as the new host.
Bob Barker is one of the most skilled MC’s I have ever seen. The Price Is Right is unique for a game show in that it’s a rather open ended format. Nobody knows how quickly someone will win a pricing game. Bob is an expert at pacing the show. He knows exactly when to drag some bits out and he knows when to hurd the contestants along
There are a few other possibilities that initially sprang to my mind like Regis Philbin, Wayne Brady or Tom Bergeron. However all of those guys are under contract with ABC.
Who do you think will be the next host of The Price Is Right ?

I think Wayne Brady would be a great host. He is smart, sharp, funny and a great entertainer and the viewers would love him. By the way I am a 63 year old white women so I am not just being prejudice.

I am 12 years old and really don’t want Bob Barker to retire. I was so sad that I cried today in school. I think that Bob is the only one for this job, but if there is going to be a new host, I think it should be Pat S. that hosts “Wheel of Fortune.” I am going to miss Bob!

For Bob Barker, thanks for the memories and have a happy, enjoyable retirement. The Price is Right will go on, but I believe since he has experience hosting TPIR Live in Las Vegas and has actually attended tapings of the show, Todd Newton will be Bob Barker’s successor, and he’ll carry the show from here on out. Yes, the Bob Barker era will offically close its chapter when he tapes his final TPIR telecast, early next month. Todd Newton is clearly the most qualified host to succeed Bob Barker, hosting The Price is Right. One era will end, but another will begin, hopefully with Todd Newton hosting. I think Thursday night on his TV special, Bob Barker should introduce his successor. He will be succeeded, but never replaced. On that note, my most favorite memory of Bob Barker was when he kicked Happy Gilmore’s butt, after he said (I’m being politically correct, here), “The price is wrong, Bob!”, just like in the TV broadcast movie trailers. I’ll end this by saying “The Price is Right, Gilmore, and don’t you ever forget it!”

Dear Bob,
I’m calling you by your first name because I feel I have known you a very long time. I started watching the Price Is Right when it went on the air in 1972. I would watch your show daily during the summer beacuse I was in middle school then. I had the privilege of watching a taping in 2005 when I was in Los Angeles and it was a great experience. Thank you for keeping us entertained all these years. The show will go on but it will not be the same without you. Enjoy your retirement, you deserve it.

For Bob Barker, thanks for the memories! We should consider marketing tee-shirts that read “The Price is Right, Gilmore!” Fremantle Home Video should consider preparing Volume 1 of “The Best of TPIR” in the same way as the recent release of “The Best of Match Game, Vol. 1″. No one will ever replace Bob Barker, but as the host of The Price is Right, he will be succeeded. His successor will not try to be Bob, just host the show his way, be himself and have fun doing it. His trademark phrase is “Help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered!” His successor should come up with his own trademark phrase to close each show. He will always be the King of all Game Show Hosts-Bob Barker.

I ‘ve been watching Mr. Barker ever since I can remember. From Truth to the Price is Right. When Bob started MCing Price in 1972, I continued following the show through my Military hitch in the USNavy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. Never missed an episode when we could get the show, which was quite often. Watching the Price is Right with Bob was how i started my day, just like taking that necessary medication to get on with it. I am sadened that Bob is leaving, but also happy for him. It’s time he relaxes abit. Who will be Bob’s successor? There is alot of talent out there, but none that will surpass that of the greatest MC of all times, Mr. Bob Barker. WE LOVE YOU BOB , from all of your adored fans in North Dakota. Bob– You must be kidding? Leftist Rosie? Apparently your audience thinks the same, as 80% listed her as the ‘least favorite’ replacement host for your show. She’s your friend??? Upon reading that, my 5 decade appreciation and admiration for you just plummited. I’m stunned that you, Bob Barker would even consider destroying your life long accomplishment (The Price Is Right) by dumping it in the toilet, to allowing Rosie to flush it all away. What a sad ending to an American Success Story. Hopefully, common cense will prevail.

I just heard that Bob Barker had endorsed Rosie O’Donald as his replacement. I used to have a great deal of respect for him, but after reading about his endorsement of her, I no longer respect him. I believe there are a lot of people who will change their mind about him after this endorsement. I think he must be losing it!!!! Rosie has no respect for the United States and what it stands for. Bob always made comments about the service men in the audience and the great jobs they were doing for our country. Can you really see Rosie O’Donald doing that after all the things she has said? The show will not be on the air very long if she gets the job. I am a woman, and I feel the show should be hosted by a man!!!!

Dear Bob,
My grandgaughter (age 9) and I watch your show every night (I tape it daily). She adores you and it is her dream to some time meet you “in real life” as she puts it. The Price Is Right has not only been a wonderful family show, but also has been a great math exercise for my granddaughter, Amanda. However, if Rosie becomes the next host our days of watching the “money show”, as Amanda calls it, will forever be a thing of the past! She is a disgrace to the human race and is certainly not fit for family viewing. What are you thinking to even suggest that a person like Rosie should take your well respected spot?

Bob – How you will be missed on TPIR!! It will not be the same without you, no matter who replaces you, especially Rosie O’Donnell. She is undoubtedly the worst choice for your replacement. She is a vulgar, rude, crude, loud mouth who really shouldn’t be on T.V. at all. After having read the other comments posted on your fan site, I surely hope the producers of this great show, hosted by a great man, come to their senses and select someone with much more class than Rosie. I am sending this on behalf of myself, my mother and a number of other friends who will not watch the show if Rosie is selected. Enough said. I wish you the very best in your retirement. I am sorry to see Bob Barker leave, but all good things come to an end and it’s awesome he wants time to himself. In his wake, I certainly hope Rosie is not chosen. Shoot, Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy or Wayne Brady would be great. John O’Hurley would bring class and style to the show. Rosie – Would not be appropriate to have “Barker’s Beauties” with a female gay host and if you put men on the show as models, then you have a female hostess more masculine than the men on stage. It wouldn’t look right. Put her on late night TV on a debate program similar to what Morton Downey Jr did years ago. Let her vent and release those anxieties – but leave TPIR up to anyone else.

Rosie would be a great host. The producers would make her keep her political opinion to herself.
Got enough rude rednecks and foul mouth comics without giving them another medium to destroy. Don’t get me wrong, their comedy is great in the right venue.
Rosie has proven that she can host a daytime show. Let her have a chance if that is what they want.
Oh, maybe you would prefer that someone like the writers of southpark be allowed to stand on stage and spew out their foul language on another station for the kids to learn from.

I’m glad that Rosie O’ Donnell won’t be the new host. She would be a bad influence, especially with female models.

When he explains the rules of a game, he mumbles. I think that the game show should be taken off the air. No one can do it like Bob!

Some folks thought that 61 year old Tony Orlando would make a better host. He is very good/ interacts with live audiences. Drew Carey does very little interaction. That was what made Barker a good host, he was quick and witty. Orlando was physically as big as Carey three years ago- but slimmed down recently. Yes, I liked Carey on his own show, and on “Who’s Line…”. Sadly, he is far too flat here. He even told Wm. Shatner on his talk show, that he doesn’t really enjoy doing the show. I don’t think he be at the helm long.- DJ

Tony Orlando is an interesting choice. I could see that working.

We will miss you, Bob Barker. I Remember When they said,”And Now, Here’s The Star Of The(New) Price Is Right, BOB BARKER!!!!!!!!!” Oh, And I Heard That You Came Back To The Price Is Right for a showcase visit to show the audience your new book, Priceless Meories, and Where You Host WWE aka The Price Is Raw. You Will Be Missed, Bob.

I wish you could get someone else to be the “host” for the Price is Right.
You cannot hardly understand a word Drew Carey says. His voice is so aggreviating to listen to, he sounds like an auctioneer. His voice carries on and on and you can hardly make out a word he is saying, if you are lucky you can understand a few words of his last sentence.
Really miss Bob Barker.

Drew is so obviously nervous that you can’t help but notice . He never knows what to do with one of his hands. He either fiddles with his pocket or slips it in it.Like he just clams up at times.
He’s just not cut out for The price Is Right, let’s face it. No comedians should host the show.
